Event: You’ll learn how to use Sinamay to create a headpiece and then a table placemat for the fabulous sculptural abstract part of the hat – ideal for the racing season.
There will also be a chance to ask questions, discuss the inspiration, and much, much more! The challenge will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings with the Thursday evening being used for a catch up session.

Millinery Skill Level: Suitable for all levels
What you will need:

1 metre of Sinamay
-
Plate disk block (if you don’t have one you can use a saucer or side plate, don’t worry I will show you how to block with them)

Elastic band or string
-
Feather quills from a millinery supplier – and any other feathers you might want to use

1 x fake flower (or one that you’ve previously made)

Any other trimmings you might want such as ribbons, beads, or netting
-
Clingfilm
-
Sellotape
-
Thread, needle and pins
-
Wire cutters
-
Tape measure

1 metre of millinery elastic from a millinery supplier

Placemat or straw disk (you can get these from interior shops, Homesense, Zara Home, Amazon, and charity shops)

1 metre of millinery elastic from a millinery supplier

½ metre of millinery wire (if you don’t have this, a cheaper alternative is galvanised steel wire 1.2/1.5mm wide, which you can get from most garden centres or DIY stores)
Preferred millinery suppliers include Petersham Millinery Supplies, Parkin Fabrics, Baxter, Hart & Abraham, B unique, Trimmings Company and more.
Then Wednesday the 23rd at 7.30pm GMT
Thursday will be a catch up day
Concluding on Friday the 25th at 7.30pm GMT
On Monday 28th February, there will be a fabulous masterclass evening to conclude the event where I’ll teach you even more tips and tricks.
